The flavors of this sauce are amazing, and its uses are limitless.
Besides, it is a versatile and delightful way to enhance your favorite dishes’ fruit colors and flavors.
Bronco Berry Sauce is great to brighten up your next brunch or breakfast.

Ingredients:
- 1 cup water
- 1/2 cup ketchup
- 2 tbsp tablespoons brown sugar
- 1/2 tsp paprika
- 4 tbsp corn syrup
- 4 tbsp red bell pepper, minced
- 1 tbsp cornstarch
- 1/2 tsp jalapeno peppers, canned
- 4 tbsp white vinegar
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 3 tbsp Pectin powder
- A pinch of cayenne pepper
Instructions
Perfect for a picnic, backyard barbecue, or brunch 一, it is all about Bronco Berry Sauce.
It doesn’t require fancy ingredients and makes an outstanding pairing for all kinds of meat and fish.
Moreover, it is one of the simplest homemade sauces you can find. It requires some time to make, though, simmering the ingredients for about 20 minutes.
But it’s worth it.!
Step 1:
Blend all water, ketchup, brown sugar, paprika, corn syrup, white vinegar, garlic powder, Pectin powder, and a pinch of cayenne in a blender for about 15-20 seconds.
Step 2:
Add bell peppers, jalapenos, and the ingredients you’ve just mixed to a small saucepan and heat, stirring for about 20 minutes.
Step 3:
Stir in the cornstarch mixture after 20 minutes and simmer the sauce for another 10 minutes on low heat until the sauce thickens.
Then place the saucepan on a plate or a cooling rack to cool.
The mixture should result in a steak sauce-like consistency.
Once cooled, transfer it to a sealed container and store it in the fridge.
Enjoy your Bronco Berry Sauce with burgers or wings.
Ingredient Substitution
Now that you know there are no berries in this copycat recipe, you can change or remove some ingredients to maintain the heat level of the sauce and adjust the consistency.
Since the ingredients list is long, you have plenty of space to work with.
1. Barbecue Sauce
Barbecue sauce is one of the most versatile sauces and uses ketchup or tomato sauce as the base.
So it could make an excellent ketchup substitute for this Bronco Berry Sauce.
It includes vinegar, tomato paste, brown sugar, liquid smoke, and other spices.
It is sweet, tangy, and just the right level of smoky to meet all the saucing needs.
But remember, it already has some components you need for the sauce.
So reduce some of them with barbecue sauce instead of ketchup.
Maple Syrup
Although maple syrup has a bit thinner consistency than corn syrup, you can still use it in equal amounts to substitute corn syrup.
Maple syrup is slightly sweet with rich flavors you should be careful with.
Try adding it gradually to avoid being overwhelmed with the maple component.
If you have honey, it works as well. You can use honey all the same in a 1:1 ratio.
Lemon Juice
Lemon juice can be an excellent substitute for white vinegar since it adds the required acidity and hints of brightness to the dish.
Your sauce will benefit from the burst of citrus acidity you get from lemons.
But note that the lemon juice will add citrus notes to the sauce.
If you want to avoid that, try adding less than the recipe needs. Other than that, you can use it as a 1:1 substitute.
What to Serve with Bronco Berry Sauce
Since the Bronco Berry Sauce is very versatile, there are a variety of dishes you can serve it with.
You can use it as a topping for sandwiches, pasta, steaks, pancakes, and ice cream.
Here are some options to consider.
Grilled Salmon
The pleasant sweet undertones perfectly counterbalance traditionally salty, fatty fish like salmon.
The result is a salty, sweet, spicy, and sour combination that will tickle your taste buds.
In the grilled salmon recipe, you must marinate the salmon in a savory bourbon sauce for about 2 hours and then quickly grill for about 5-7 minutes.
But we’d suggest skipping the marinating part and glazing the salmon in the Bronco Berry Sauce.
The result will surprise you.
Meatballs
One of our favorite uses of the Bronco Berry sauce includes meatballs.
If you’re tired of the classic meatball-marinara combination, you’d love how this berry sauce fits here.
You need to heat 1 cup of the Bronco Berry Sauce in a large skillet.
Then add about 12 ounces o chili sauce, 1 teaspoon of black pepper, and 1 teaspoon of cumin. Remember to add your meatballs and occasionally stir until ready.
Shrimp
Garlic, herb, Cajun, BBQ, or any marinade easily ups the flavors of the shrimp.
However, you can add Bronco Berry Sauce for an even bigger booster.
It will work best with grilled shrimp, where marinade is what matters the most.
The sweet flavors of this sauce will make your shrimp taste like nothing you’ve tried before.
But note to only marinade your shrimp for an hour at maximum.
How to Store Bronco Berry Sauce
Although Bronco Berry Sauce is delicious and versatile, perfect for topping, marinating, and sipping, it will only stay that way if you store it according to the best recommendations.
Store Bronco Berry Sauce in the Fridge
The best way to store Bronco Berry sauce is in the fridge.
However, you must label the sealed airtight container and store it in the back of your fridge.
Since there’s vinegar, the sauce will preserve well.
Once you notice a mold or any other sign of deterioration, throw it away.
Store Bronco Berry Sauce in the Freezer
If you’ve made too much sauce, pour the leftovers into an airtight container or freezer bag and freeze.
We recommend labeling the portion size, so it’s easier to store for the future.
You can store Bronco Berry Sauce in the freezer for about 3-4 months.
