Equipment
  • 1 Slotted spoon
  • 2 shallow dish
  • 1 deep skillet
  • 1 Slotted spoon
Ingredients

  • Thin slices of beef sirloin steak
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 tablespoons of chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon of salt
  • 1 large egg
  • Cooking oil for deep frying
  • White gravy for serving
Instructions

  • First, prepare your beef sirloin steak by cutting it into thin slices, if not already sliced.
In a shallow dish, combine 1 cup of all-purpose flour, 2 tablespoons of chili powder, and 1 teaspoon of salt.
Mix well to ensure there are no clumps.
  • In a separate dish, beat a large egg.
Dip each slice of steak into the egg mixture, making sure it's fully coated.
Then, transfer it to the flour mixture, pressing gently to ensure even coverage on both sides.
  • Fill a deep skillet or frying pan with enough cooking oil to submerge the coated steak pieces.
Heat the oil on medium heat until it reaches a temperature of approximately 350°F (175°C).
  • Carefully lower the coated steak slices into the hot oil using tongs or a slotted spoon.
Fry the steaks for 2-3 minutes per side or until they are golden brown and crispy.
Keep an eye on the oil temperature to ensure it doesn't drop below 350°F.
  • Once the steaks are cooked, use tongs or a slotted spoon to transfer them to a plate lined with paper towels to drain any excess oil.
Finally, serve your Texas Roadhouse Chicken Fried Steak smothered in white gravy and enjoy!
