  • 8 ounces Fresh shrimp peeled and deveined
  • 1/2 cup Lemon juice
  • 1 cup chopped onion
  • 1/4 cup butter cubed
  • 3 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 2 cups milk
  • Salt and pepper white and black to taste
  • Optional: diced tomatoes frozen peas, sherry
Instructions
 
  • Peel and devein the fresh shrimp.
    Mix the shrimp with some lemon juice to enhance the flavor.
    Set aside.
  • In a large saucepan, heat the butter over medium heat.
    Sauté the chopped onion in butter until it turns tender.
    Then, add the shrimp and cook until they become opaque, stirring occasionally.
    This should take around 2 minutes.
    Remove the shrimp and onion mixture from the pan and set it aside
  • In the same saucepan, stir in the all-purpose flour until it's well combined with the butter.
    Gradually add 2 cups of milk to the saucepan, stirring constantly.
    Cook this mixture for about 2 minutes or until the sauce thickens.
    Season with salt and white and black pepper according to your preferences.
  • If you'd like to include additional flavors, you can add ingredients such as diced tomatoes, frozen peas, or a splash of sherry.
    Stir them into the cream sauce and let the mixture simmer for a few minutes until heated through.
  • Finally, add the cooked shrimp and onion mixture back into the saucepan with the cream sauce.
    Stir everything together and cook until the shrimp turns pink, which indicates they are fully cooked.
