Combine water, soy sauce, brown sugar, honey, garlic, and ginger in a saucepan.
Keep the heat at medium-high and stir the mixture until it starts to boil.
Once boiling, reduce the heat and let it simmer.
This should take about 10 minutes until the sauce begins to thicken.
In a separate bowl, mix cornstarch and cold water.
Stir them together until the cornstarch is fully dissolved.
Add the cornstarch mixture to the saucepan.
Stir constantly until the sauce reaches your desired thickness.
Remove from heat and allow it to cool before storing.
You can use it immediately or refrigerate it for later.
