Red Robin Teriyaki Sauce Recipe

I’ve put together a recipe for Red Robin’s signature teriyaki sauce...why? Because I love this stuff!
The secret to this sauce is in the right blend of soy sauce, ginger, garlic, and a touch of brown sugar, balanced with a hint of pineapple juice.
To achieve the right consistency, don’t rush the simmering process—give it time to thicken properly so every flavor shines.
My family loves this sauce on burgers but it also works wonders on grilled chicken or as a savory marinade.

  • 1/4 cup Soy Sauce
  • 5 tbsp Brown Sugar
  • 1 tbsp Honey
  • 1 Garlic Clove minced
  • 1 tsp Ground Ginger

  • Combine water, soy sauce, brown sugar, honey, garlic, and ginger in a saucepan.
  • Keep the heat at medium-high and stir the mixture until it starts to boil.
  • Once boiling, reduce the heat and let it simmer.
  • This should take about 10 minutes until the sauce begins to thicken.
  • In a separate bowl, mix cornstarch and cold water.
  • Stir them together until the cornstarch is fully dissolved.
  • Add the cornstarch mixture to the saucepan.
  • Stir constantly until the sauce reaches your desired thickness.
  • Remove from heat and allow it to cool before storing.
  • You can use it immediately or refrigerate it for later.
