Outback Steakhouse Sirloin Steak Recipe

A well-cooked sirloin steak with a rich, savory crust and a juicy center is always worth the effort in my book!
To get started, I love seasoning my steak with a generous sprinkle of salt, black pepper, and a pinch of garlic powder and smoked paprika for added oomph!
Sear your steak for a couple of minutes on each side, then dial back the heat to let it cook to perfection.
Just before it's done, add a pat of butter and a smashed garlic clove to give it that luxurious steakhouse finish.
And don't forget the most important step: letting your steak rest for at least five minutes before slicing.

Ingredients

  • 24 oz Sirloin Steak
  • 2 tbsp Kosher Salt
  • 2 tbsp Paprika
  • 1 tbsp Onion Salt
  • 1 tbsp Garlic Powder
  • 1 tbsp Dried Coriander
  • 1 tbsp Black Pepper freshly ground
Instructions

  • Set your steak out at room temperature for around 30 minutes.
  • This will help the steak cook evenly.
  • Mix together the salt, paprika, onion salt, garlic powder, coriander, and black pepper to form your seasoning blend.
  • Rub it generously on both sides of the steak.
  • Preheat a grill or frying pan over medium-high heat.
  • Make sure it's hot enough to sear the meat.
  • Place the steak on the grill and press it down with a spatula or tongs to sear the edges.
  • Cook for about 4-5 minutes on each side for medium-rare.
  • Remove the steak from the grill, let it rest for about 5 minutes, and then slice against the grain for the best texture.
