Equipment
  • 2 medium-sized saucepan
  • 1 Separate bowl
Ingredients

  • 1 cup hot pepper sauce e.g. buffalo sauce
  • 3 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon brown sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • 2 teaspoons garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 tablespoon balsamic vinegar
  • 1/2 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes
  • 1 stick unsalted butter
Instructions

  • Start by adding the olive oil and garlic powder to a medium-sized saucepan over medium heat.
Give it a quick stir to combine the ingredients evenly.
  • Next, mix in the cayenne pepper, black pepper and onion powder.
Stir the mixture continuously to ensure the spices are well distributed.
  • Combine the hot pepper sauce, Worcestershire sauce, brown sugar and balsamic vinegar in a separate bowl.
Stir it well to dissolve the sugar effectively.
  • Carefully pour the hot sauce mixture into the saucepan with the spices.
Turn the heat down to medium-low and keep stirring to ensure all the ingredients are well combined.
  • Add the red pepper flakes to the sauce for an extra layer of spiciness.
Keep the sauce simmering on medium-low heat, stirring occasionally.
  • In another medium-sized saucepan, melt the unsalted butter over low heat.
Once melted, slowly whisk the melted butter into the spicy sauce mixture.
This will help to thicken the sauce and give it a smooth texture.
  • Let the sauce simmer for 5-10 minutes on low heat, allowing all the flavors to meld together.
Finally, add the kosher salt to taste and adjust any other seasonings as needed.
Your Hooters Spicy Garlic Sauce is now ready to be enjoyed with your favorite chicken wings, vegetables or even as a dipping sauce for some warm, crusty bread.
    Enjoy!
