  • 1 cup unsalted butter softened
  • 1 cup white sugar
  • 1 cup packed brown sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
Instructions
 
  • Preheat the oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit.
    Lightly grease a baking sheet or line it with parchment paper.
  • In a large mixer bowl, combine the softened unsalted butter, white sugar, and brown sugar.
    Using an electric mixer, beat the butter and sugars together until light and fluffy.
  • One at a time, add in the eggs; beat after each addition.
    Mix in the vanilla extract.
  • In a separate bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  • Slowly add the dry ingredients to the butter and sugar mixture, mixing until just combined.
  • Gently fold in the semi-sweet chocolate chips with a spatula or wooden spoon.
  • Using a rounded tablespoon or a small ice cream scoop, drop portions of chocolate chip cookie dough onto the prepared baking sheet, spacing them about 2-3 inches apart.
  • Place the baking sheet into the preheated oven and bake for 8-10 minutes or until the edges are golden brown.
  • Remove the cookies from the oven and let them cool on the baking sheet for 2 minutes.
    Then, transfer the cookies to a wire rack and let them cool completely before enjoying your delicious treat.
