Equipment
  • 1 mixing bowl
  • 1 blender
Ingredients

  • ½ cup light olive oil
  • ¼ cup red wine vinegar
  • 1 ½ tbsp freshly squeezed lime juice
  • 1 tbsp honey
  • 1 tsp dijon mustard
  • ½ tsp dried oregano
  • ½ tsp garlic powder
  • ½ tsp cumin powder
  • ½ tsp onion powder
  • ¼ tsp black pepper
  • ¼ tsp kosher salt
  • ¼ tsp paprika
  • A pinch of cayenne pepper optional
Instructions

  • In a mixing bowl or a glass measuring cup, pour in the red wine vinegar and freshly squeezed lime juice.
The acidity from these ingredients will make the base of your vinaigrette.
  •  Add in the garlic powder, cumin powder, onion powder, black pepper, kosher salt, paprika, and dried oregano leaves.
    Stir until they're thoroughly combined
  • Slowly pour the light olive oil into the vinegar mixture while constantly whisking.
This process helps to emulsify the oil, creating a well-blended and slightly thicker dressing.
You can also use a blender or food processor to achieve the same result.
  • Once you have a smooth, slightly thickened dressing, stir in the honey and dijon mustard.
These elements add a touch of sweetness and tanginess that balance the spiciness and acidity of the vinaigrette.
  • Taste your Southwest Vinaigrette, and if needed, adjust the seasoning according to your preference.
You can add more lime juice for acidity, honey for sweetness, or spices for more flavor.
  • Transfer your finished Moe's Southwest Vinaigrette to a jar or container with a tight-fitting lid.
Store it in the refrigerator for up to a week, and give it a shake before using it to ensure the ingredients haven't separated.
Enjoy it with your favorite salads and dishes that call for a flavorful and zesty vinaigrette!
