Ingredients
  
  • 3 tbsp of all-purpose flour 
  • 3 tbsp of unsalted butter
  • tsp of ground nutmeg
  • ½ tsp of salt
  • ¼ tsp of black pepper
  • 1 ¾ cup of whole milk
Instructions
 
  • Melt ¼ cup of butter in a saucepan over medium heat. Then add ¼ cup of flour. 
    Cook it for a minute or two, stirring continuously to reach a smooth consistency. But keep an eye on the time not to overcook or burn it unless you want the brown color and flavor.
  • Pour the milk into the saucepan and continue whisking to prevent lumps from forming. Bring the mixture to a boil, and don't forget about stirring. Once it boils, reduces the heat and let it simmer for another 2 minutes to thicken. 
    Take the saucepan off the stove—season with salt, pepper, nutmeg, or any other type of seasoning.  
  • Try adding some fresh basil, thyme, or rosemary for more flavor. Stove your Hello Fresh Cream Sauce Base in a small bowl or airtight container.
