Halal Guys is a New York City street food institution, and the white sauce they serve over their chicken and lamb plates is just as legendary as their slow-roasted meats. Tangy, herby, and incredibly delicious, the white sauce comes together in minutes and goes with more than just meat!
In a small bowl, combine mayonnaise, Greek yogurt, vinegar, lemon juice, herbs, pepper, garlic, sugar, salt, and red pepper (if using). Whisk vigorously until the sauce is homogenous and the spices are well incorporated.
Place sauce in the fridge, uncovered, for 30 minutes to thicken. If it hasn’t thickened sufficiently, add one additional tablespoon of yogurt. Taste and adjust salt levels if necessary.
