These delicious sandwiches typically consist of deli meats and cheeses, lettuce, dressing, and pickled elements, all served on a crusty, soft-in-the-middle bread.
The grinder sandwich has hazy origins but is undeniably a New England favorite.

Ingredients
  
  • 1 large Italian Bread or Crusty Bread
  • 6 to 8 slices of Deli Meats such as Roast Beef, Turkey, Ham
  • 4 to 6 slices Provolone Cheese and Swiss Cheese
  • 2-3 Sliced Banana Peppers
  • 1/2 small head Shredded Lettuce
  • 1 medium Sliced Tomatoe
  • 1 tablespoon Red Wine Vinegar
  • 1/2 cup Mayonnaise
  • 2 tablespoons finely grated Parmesan Cheese
  • 1/2 teaspoon Kosher Salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon Black Pepper
  • Italian Seasoning
  • 1 clove of Garlic minced
Instructions
 
  • Slice your Italian Bread or Crusty Bread in half lengthwise, making sure not to cut all the way through.
    This will form a pocket for your sandwich ingredients.
  • Layer your deli meats onto the bread.
    You can use a mix of Roast Beef, Turkey, Ham, or any of your favorite sandwich meats.
  • Add a layer of Provolone Cheese and Swiss Cheese on top of the deli meats.
    This will add an extra layer of flavor to the sandwich.
  • Add sliced Banana Peppers, shredded lettuce, and sliced tomatoes on top of the cheese layer.
  • In a small bowl, mix together the following ingredients to create a dressing:
    Red Wine
    VinegarMayonnaise
    Grated Parmesan Cheese
    Kosher Salt
    Black Pepper
    Italian Seasoning
    Minced Garlic 
  • Drizzle the dressing on top of the sandwich ingredients, making sure to cover all of the components evenly.
  • Finally, close the top of the sandwich and press down lightly to secure the ingredients together.
    You can now enjoy your flavorful and satisfying Grinder Sandwich!
