Fleming's Blueberry Lemon Drop Recipe

This cocktail from Fleming's is the kind you sip and immediately want another. It’s fresh, tart, and has just the right balance.
The key is using ripe blueberries, which add natural sweetness without overpowering the lemon.
I always shake this one well with ice because it needs that quick chill to blend everything smoothly.
A sugar rim adds a nice contrast, but a little lemon zest mixed in gives an extra pop of citrus.
If you want the drink to have a bolder blueberry presence, muddling them well before shaking is a must.
Straining out the pulp makes it feel more refined, but leaving some in gives it a bit more character.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups Blueberries
  • 1 oz. Vodka
  • 1 oz. Lemon Juice
  • 1 oz. Simple Syrup
  • Ice Cubes as needed
  • Lemon Wedge for garnish
  • Raw Sugar for rim
Instructions

  • Rub a lemon wedge over the rim of a martini glass, and then dip into a plate with raw sugar to coat the edge of the glass.
  • Set aside.
  • In a cocktail shaker, muddle about 12 blueberries to release their juices.
  • This adds vibrant color and flavor.
  • Add ice cubes to the shaker, followed by the vodka, lemon juice, and simple syrup.
  • Give it a good shake until the mixture is well combined and chilled.
  • Using a small fine mesh sieve, strain the blueberry cocktail into the prepared glass.
  • This ensures a smooth drink by keeping blueberry skins and seeds out of your glass.
  • Garnish with a lemon wedge or a few whole blueberries on a cocktail pick.
