- 1 cup Brown sugar
- 1/2 cup Unsalted butter (1 stick)
- 2 tbsp Butter pecan extract
In a medium saucepan, combine 1 cup of brown sugar with 1/2 cup of unsalted butter (which is equivalent to 1 stick of butter) over medium heat.
Stir the mixture continuously until both the sugar and butter are fully melted and combined.
Carefully monitor the heat to prevent burning. Once the mixture is smooth and the sugar has completely dissolved, reduce the heat to a low setting. Add 2 tablespoons of butter pecan extract to the saucepan and mix it into the sugar and butter fusion.
Continue to stir the mixture over the low heat for an additional minute to ensure that the butter pecan flavor is infused throughout.
Remove the saucepan from the heat and allow the syrup to cool slightly. It will thicken as it cools. Once cooled, transfer the butter pecan syrup into an airtight container for storage.
