Denny's Super Bird Recipe

This Super Bird sandwich is Denny’s answer to a turkey club, and it’s got everything that makes a great diner sandwich!
The key is crisping up the sourdough just right—golden brown with enough crunch to hold up against the fillings.
I always use thick-cut turkey for a heartier bite, and adding just the right amount of Thousand Island dressing keeps it from tasting dry.
Swiss cheese is a must here because it melts smoothly without overpowering the turkey and bacon.
If you want the full experience, serve it with a side of crispy hash browns to round out that classic diner feel.

Ingredients

  • 3 oz Turkey Breast
  • 2 slices Bacon
  • 2 slices Swiss Cheese
  • 2 slices Tomato
  • 2 slices Sourdough Bread
  • 1 tbsp Butter softened
  • 1 tbsp Thousand Island Dressing optional
Instructions

  • Cook the bacon in a pan until crisp, then set aside on a paper towel to drain excess grease.
  • In the same pan, add a little butter and grill the turkey slices on medium heat until golden brown on both sides.
  • Spread a thin layer of butter on one side of each slice of sourdough bread.
  • Place one slice of bread, butter side down, in the pan. Layer the turkey, Swiss cheese, bacon, and tomatoes on top.
  • Top with the second slice of bread, butter side up, and press gently. Grill until the bread is golden and the cheese is melted.
