One lil' trick that I always use is adding a bit of cumin for extra flavor.

Ingredients
  
  • 2 cans Black Beans 15 oz. each
  • 1 tbsp Sugar
  • 1 tsp Cumin
  • 1 tsp Chili Powder
  • 1 tsp Garlic Powder
  • 1/4 cup Water
Instructions
 
  • Open the cans of black beans and drain most of the liquid. Leave a small amount for extra flavor.
  • Place the beans, sugar, cumin, chili powder, and garlic powder in a medium-sized saucepan.
  • Add the water to the pan. Mix all ingredients together thoroughly to ensure the spices are evenly distributed.
  • Set the saucepan over medium-low heat. Let the mixture simmer gently for about 20 to 25 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  • Serve the beans warm! They pair perfectly with grilled chicken or rice.
