  • 1 Large saucepan
Ingredients

  • Fresh fruits apricots, prunes, dried cranberries
  • Mexican condiment Chamoy Sauce
  • 1 large ancho chile pepper
  • 1 chile de Arbol
  • 1 freshly squeezed lime
  • 1 cup of warm water
  • cup chile limon powder or Tajin
  • 1 cup dried hibiscus flowers
  • Salt and white sugar according to taste
Instructions

  • Gather your fresh fruits, Mexican condiments, ancho chile, chile de Arbol, lime juice, and warm water.
Measure out the required amounts of chile limon powder, hibiscus flowers, salt, and sugar.
In a large saucepan, add the fresh fruits, chile de Arbol, warm water, and hibiscus flowers.
Bring the mixture to a boil, then reduce the heat and let it simmer for about 15 minutes.
  • After simmering, add the white sugar to the saucepan and mix it well.
Now, pour the freshly squeezed lime juice into the mixture and give it a good stir to combine everything.
Transfer the contents of the saucepan to a food processor or blender.
Process until you achieve a smooth consistency for your Chamoy Sauce.
At this point, taste your mixture and adjust the salt and sugar based on your preference.
  • Incorporate the chile limon powder or Tajin into the blended Chamoy Sauce.
If you desire, add more heat with chopped ancho chile pepper and additional chile de Arbol.
Once the Chamoy Sauce is prepared, pour it over your chosen fruits or pickles.
Make sure they are well coated, then let them marinate for about 2 hours.
This will allow the flavors to fully meld into the fruits or pickles.
  • After the marinating period, your Chamoy Pickles are ready to be enjoyed.
Store them in the refrigerator in an airtight container.
