Equipment
  • 1 electric blender
Ingredients

  • 1 can 15 oz diced tomatoes, undrained
  • 1/2 cup chopped onion
  • 1/4 cup chopped green bell pepper
  • 1 jalapeño pepper seeded and finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 1 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • Fresh cilantro to taste
Instructions

  • Prepare the ingredients: Wash and chop the onion, green bell pepper, jalapeño pepper, and fresh cilantro.
Remove the seeds from the jalapeño pepper for a milder salsa, or keep them for extra spiciness.
Peel and mince the garlic cloves.
  • Combine the ingredients: In a food processor or an electric blender, add the diced tomatoes (including the juice), chopped onion, green bell pepper, jalapeño pepper, minced garlic, sugar, ground cumin, and salt.
Add fresh cilantro: Add a handful of fresh cilantro to the mix, adjusting the amount according to your taste preference.
Remember, you can always add more cilantro later if needed, but you can't take it out.
  • Blend the salsa: Pulse the food processor or electric blender until the ingredients are well combined and form a slightly chunky salsa.
If you prefer a smoother texture, blend it for a longer period of time.
Taste and adjust: Taste the salsa and adjust the seasoning, if necessary.
You may want to add more salt, sugar, hot sauce, or more cilantro for extra flavor.
  • Refrigerate the salsa: Transfer the salsa to an airtight container and refrigerate it for at least an hour to allow the flavors to mingle and develop.
Now you have your own homemade Casa Ole Salsa, perfect for serving with a variety of Mexican dishes and elevating your Mexican cuisine experience.
    Enjoy your fresh, restaurant-quality salsa!
