Whisk together the onion flakes, flour, bouillon granules, garlic salt, cumin, paprika, chili powder, cayenne pepper, and sugar in a bowl.
Crumble the ground beef into a skillet and brown it over medium heat until it’s fully cooked.
Remove the beef from heat and drain any excess grease.
Rinse the beef with hot water if desired, to remove additional fat.
Return the beef to the skillet and stir in the spice mixture until the meat is well-coated.
Add the 3/4 cup of water to the beef and spice mix, then bring it to a simmer.
Allow it to cook for about 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.
