Equipment
  • 1 shallow dish
  • 1 grill
  • 1 meat thermometer
  • 1 foil-lined baking sheet
  • 1 sharp knife
Ingredients

  • 2 pounds flank steak
  • ½ cup balsamic vinegar
  • ¼ cup olive oil
  • ¼ cup Worcestershire Sauce
  • 2 tbsp brown sugar
  • 1 tbsp Dijon mustard
  • 1 tbsp garlic powder
  • 1 tbsp onion powder
  • Salt and ground black pepper to taste
Instructions

  • Mix balsamic vinegar, olive oil, Worcestershire sauce, brown sugar, Dijon mustard, garlic powder, onion powder, salt and ground black pepper in a shallow dish.
Whisk thoroughly to combine and create a complex blend of flavors.
  • Place the flank steak into the marinade mixture, ensuring that the steak is fully coated.
Cover the dish with plastic wrap and let it rest in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours, or ideally, overnight.
This tenderizing marinade will enhance its beefy flavor and add a savory taste your taste buds will love.
  • Before cooking, remove the marinated steak from the refrigerator and allow it to come to room temperature.
Preheat your grill or cast-iron skillet on medium-high heat.
  • Once the cooking surface is ready, place the steak on it and cook for 4-5 minutes on one side, then flip and cook for an additional 3-4 minutes.
Use a meat thermometer to check the internal temperature of the steak – aim for 125°F for medium-rare or adjust the cooking time accordingly to achieve the desired level of doneness.
  • Remove the steak from the grill or skillet and place it on a foil-lined baking sheet.
Cover the steak loosely with aluminum foil, creating a tent to retain heat and let it rest for 10-15 minutes.
This allows the juices to be redistributed, producing a juicy and tender piece of meat.
  • Using a sharp knife, slice the steak against the grain into thin strips to maximize tenderness.
Serve with your favorite sides and enjoy your delicious Pioneer Woman London Broil!
