- 1 pinch of cayenne pepper
- 1/2 tsp ground cumin
- 1 C buttermilk
- 1 egg
- Oil for frying
- Spicy signature bloom sauce for dipping
Instructions
- Cut the boneless chicken breast into thin pieces.
- In a shallow dish, combine the all-purpose flour, garlic powder, seasoned salt, onion powder, black pepper, cayenne pepper, and ground cumin.Mix well to create the seasoned flour.
- In another shallow dish, mix together the buttermilk and egg.
- Dip each chicken cutlet first into the seasoned flour, ensuring that it is covered completely.Shake off any excess flour before dipping the chicken into the buttermilk mixture.Finally, dip the chicken back into the flour mixture to create a crispy coating.
- In a deep frying pan, heat the oil to 350°F (175°C).Carefully lower the coated chicken pieces into the hot oil and cook until the chicken is golden brown and cooked through, which should take about 4-6 minutes depending on the thickness of the chicken.Use a slotted spoon to remove the chicken from the oil and place it onto a plate lined with paper towels to drain any excess oil.
