Ingredients
  
  • 1- quart mayonnaise use a separate 1 cup of mayonnaise for adjustments if needed
  • 1 can of Agostino Recca anchovy fillets or anchovy paste
  • Finely chopped fresh vegetables onion, bell peppers, jalapeños, celery
  • Fresh garlic minced
  • Sweet pickle relish
  • Worcestershire Sauce
  • Cracker meal can use Ritz crackers or saltine crackers
  • Hard-boiled eggs mashed
Instructions
 
  • Prepare the vegetables and anchovies: Finely chop the onion, bell peppers, jalapeños, and celery.
    Mince fresh garlic to taste.
    If using anchovy fillets, finely chop them as well.
    If using anchovy paste, measure the desired amount.
  • Mash the eggs and break the crackers: Mash the hard-boiled eggs using a fork or a potato masher.
    Break the Ritz crackers or saltine crackers into small pieces to create a cracker meal.
    Mix the base: In a large mixing bowl, combine the quart of mayonnaise with the chopped vegetables, minced garlic, anchovies or anchovy paste, sweet pickle relish, and Worcestershire Sauce.
    Mix well.
  • Add eggs and cracker meal: Gently fold in the mashed hard-boiled eggs and cracker meal into the mixture.
    Adjust the consistency: If the tartar sauce seems too thick, you can use the additional cup of mayonnaise to thin it out to your desired consistency.
  • Optional - Blend for a smoother texture: If you prefer a smoother texture, transfer the tartar sauce into a food processor and process until the desired texture is reached.
