Equipment
  • 1 baking dish
  • 1 large mixing bowl
  • 1 meat thermometer
Ingredients

  • 1 ½ pounds of ground beef 85% lean
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs preferably Panko
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 cup grated cheddar cheese
  • 1 small onion finely chopped
Instructions

  • Preheat the oven and prepare the baking dish: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
Lightly grease a baking dish to prevent the meatloaf from sticking while baking.
Mix the dry ingredients: In a large mixing bowl, add the breadcrumbs and slowly pour in the whole milk.
Stir and allow the breadcrumbs to absorb the milk fully.
  • Combine the meat mixture: In the same bowl with the soaked breadcrumbs, add the ground beef, eggs, grated cheddar cheese, and finely chopped onion.
Use your hands or a spatula to gently mix the ingredients until they are evenly distributed.
Shape the meatloaf: Transfer the meat mixture onto the prepared baking dish.
Shape the meat mixture into a loaf, ensuring it is evenly formed without being too compact or loose.
  • Bake the meatloaf: Place the baking dish in the preheated oven.
Bake the meatloaf for 45 minutes to 1 hour or until it reaches an internal temperature of 160°F (71°C).
You can use a meat thermometer to check for doneness.
  • Let the meatloaf rest: After removing the meatloaf from the oven, let it rest for about 10 minutes.
This allows the juices to be redistributed and ensures a moist and tender end result.
After resting, slice and serve the meatloaf as desired.
